Dance School in London  and Greater London

Susan Handy Dance offers the full GCSE Dance course for both girls and boys. 
The course provides an opportunity to engage with dance beyond dance classes.
Students may join the course with experience in different styles such as street dance,
jazz, contemporary, ballet and hip-hop however, previous dance experience is not necessary.
GCSE Dance is for anyone interested in dance and performance. 

In studying GCSE Dance you will develop practical dance skills increasing fitness, strength and flexibility at the same time as enhancing your analytical and creative thinking.
You will explore a wide variety of dance genres and choreography, advance your
skills in presenting work and in performing your own and others choreography.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Students should be aged between 13 -16 ( from Year 9 in school ) by September of the first year of the course

Helen Imison gained her Performing Arts degree from London Metropolitan University; at the Kingston Teacher Training College she gained her Foundation in Dance Instruction; at the Linda Sweetzer Teacher Training College, her Diploma in Dance Education and she has recently been awarded her Licentiate in Modern Theatre Dance. Helen joined the school in 2013 and now heads the Modern Theatre Dance, Tap and GCSE Dance department across the school. Choreography is Helen's forte and she creates works for many dance productions for Susan Handy Dance plus for drama companies and performing arts festivals. Helen trains and choreographs for the Susan Handy Dance Company.
